David and Rosemary Edwards

David and Rosemary Edwards’ first contact with Child Evangelism Fellowship was helping David and Margaret Adamson with summer outreach in Limerick.  They were so impressed with the work that was being done amongst the boys and girls that they decided to commence a Good News Club in their home in Belfast.  This was well attended and became a stepping stone to the Lord calling them into CEF in a full time capacity in September 1989.  In March 1992, along with their three daughters – Julie, Caron and Sarah, they made the move to Waterford in the Republic of Ireland as local workers.

For just over nine years they conducted a full CEF programme there and were greatly encouraged by a strong camp ministry, which has continued for the last 21 years, and the many opportunities for training others in the counties of Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Tipperary and Wexford.

In the autumn of 2000 they were approached by CEF leadership concerning a move to Dublin to develop a training ministry and build relationships with local churches.  After prayer and deliberation David, Rosemary and Sarah moved to Ratoath, Co Meath in  December 2001, (Julie and Caron were attending university).  Here they began to share the vision of reaching out to the children, having a Good News Club again in their own home and seeking to challenge others about the children on their doorstep.

After seven years working in Dublin, David and Rosemary were appointed as Regional Directors for the Central Ireland area.  They retained the same vision to see local believers reaching local children with the Good News of Jesus and sought to encourage and equip the local church to fulfil that task.  For three years, while trying to sell their house in Ratoath, they began travelling to the counties of Cavan and Monaghan making many contacts and meeting with church leaders, pastors and ministers.

In the summer of 2010, having just sold their house and planning a move to Co Cavan, life took an unexpected turn when they were asked to take on the position of Assistant National Directors of CEF Ireland.

They are now living in Lurgan and working as National Directors of CEF Ireland.
